Our Mares
At TCSH we believe great mares are the backbone of every riding and breeding program. We are so proud of the mares who call TCSH home - see below to learn more about them!
Lynbrooke
Imagining x Spring At Last
"Alice" aka "Sticks"
16.2hh 2017 TB mare
Alice just might be the sweetest horse on the farm. She has a winning and deeply people-oriented personality. In addition, she has been blessed with excellent conformation, a gift from her grand-sire, legendary TB sporthorse sire Giant's Causeway. Graceful long lines, paired with powerful hindquarters and a lovely neck complete the picture of a thoroughbred straight out of an 19th century painting. Alice is a forward, wants-to-please mare with an active hind leg and an incredibly balanced and uphill canter. Alice has been accepted into Book I of the Westfalen registry!
In 2023, Alice gifted us with the chestnut filly, Dona Regina, who we are retaining.
Premie Dawna
"Pita"
Prado x Ravnaya (Rapport x Renaissance)
14.1hh 2009 Westfalen Mare
As you can guess from her name, Pita was born premature. After a dramatic early arrival she never quite caught up to her genetic height expectations. But don't let that fool you! Her personality is 17hh. Pita has been graced with a stunning neck, active hocks and a natural ability to engage. She was schooling 3rd level with her owner prior to a pasture injury that sidelined her riding career. Pita has was placed in the Studbook 1 for German Riding Ponies (Westfalen). At her inspection she was praised for her ground-covering, active walk and smooth gaits. Pita is with TCSH on a lease, thanks to her gracious owner.
Pita has graced us with two fabulous fillies, Delanora and Sadie.
Up and Coming
Dona Regina
Reggie got her name for being born the "Red Giraffe" -- so very, very tall and uphill. Even in her most awkward growth spurts, Reggie has stayed balanced and graceful. She was awarded Premium Foal status at her Westfalen inspection, with an average score of 8.0, and received especially high marks for her conformation and type. She is an absolute social butterfly with horses and humans alike, and like her dam loves everyone she has ever met. We are excited to see this leggy, elegant filly mature! Reggie is being retained as a future sport horse and broodmare prospect.

Miss Madison
"Madison"
1992-2024
16.1hh TB mare
Madison may be retired now, but her impact on TCSH is massive. Madison was Sara's main riding horse and dam to her current riding horse, Theo. Madison brought a solid mind and solid build that made her a true athletic partner in the dressage ring. As a mother, she imparted many of her wonderful traits to her son. She has made an indelible mark on our breeding goals and our definition of a quality sport horse. She enjoyed her 30s in style as the matriarch of the herd.
